Questions interns ask first.
Do I pay anything to join?+
Nothing. Zero. Pods are fully funded by the startups. You get free campus access, competitions, placement, mentorship, and three certificates — all at no cost to you.
Where do I work from?+
Pods are campus-based at Blue Ox Kampus in Mbarara — with 100 Mbps fibre, generator power backup, and a Pod Coordinator on-site. Remote arrangements can be discussed depending on your location and the startup's requirements.
What companies will I work with?+
European startups — primarily in Poland, Netherlands, Germany, and the UK. These are real companies with real products and real backlogs. Not mock projects.
How long is a Pod placement?+
Between 8 and 16 weeks, depending on the startup's needs and your availability. Most placements run for 12 weeks.
What exactly are the three certificates?+
On completion you receive: (1) a certificate from Brookes Foundation recognising your professional development, (2) a certificate from GLP Software House, our technology partner in Poland, and (3) a reference certificate from the startup you worked with — the most valuable one for your CV.
Can I actually get hired by the startup?+
Yes. Top-performing interns are offered contracts or full employment by the startups they work with. It happens regularly. Your Pod is your audition — perform well and the opportunity follows naturally.
How do I get selected for a Pod?+
Register first, then compete at our weekly Saturday competitions at Kampus. The top performers from each competition get matched to Pods first. The ranking is transparent — you earn your place.
